Medicare

In a skilled nursing facility, Medicare Part A helps pay for a semiprivate room, meals, skilled nursing, rehabilitative services, medications and medical supplies (after a 3-day hospital stay). For each benefit period patients are responsible for:

  • Nothing for the first 20 days.
  • $119 per day for days 21-100.
  • All costs beyond the 100th day in the benefit period.

Please Note: The benefit period for Medicare Part A is UP TO 100 days. Most people qualify for far less than 100 days. For each Medicare Part A day, which is covered in a skilled nursing facility, a patient must meet Medicare Part A criteria. This is true from day one of the stay, until the last covered day. If you have any questions about skilled nursing care and conditions of coverage, please call admissions, social services and/or 1-800 MEDICARE.
